Chapter 14
12And the word of the LORD came to me, saying.13Son of man, when a land sins against me by acting faithlessly, then I will stretch out my hand against it and break its staff of bread and send famine upon it and cut off from it man and beast.14Even if these three men—Noah, Daniel, and Job—were in her midst, they in their righteousness would deliver their souls alone, says the Lord GOD.15If I cause an evil living creature to pass through the land and it bereaves her and she becomes desolation without a passer from the face of the living creature.16These three men in her midst—as I live, declares the Lord GOD—if they deliver sons or daughters, they alone will be delivered, and the land will become a desolation.17Or if I bring a sword upon the land and say, "Sword, pass through the land," and I cut off from it man and beast.18And these three men in her midst—as I live, says the LORD—they will not deliver sons and daughters, for they alone will be delivered.19Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out my wrath upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast.20And Noah, Daniel, and Job in her midst—as I live, says the Lord GOD—if a son, if a daughter, they will deliver; by their righteousness they will deliver their nephesh.21For thus says the Lord GOD: How much more when I send against Jerusalem four disastrous judgments—sword, famine, evil beasts, and pestilence—to cut off from it man and beast.22And behold, though a remnant remains in it, as they come out to you, you will see their way and their deeds, and you will be consoled regarding the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, all that I have brought upon it.23And they will comfort you when you see their way and their doings, and you will know that I have not done in vain all that I have done in it, says the Lord GOD.
